Urgent requirement for an IT Digital Asset & Configuration Specialist - Contract - Sydney.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

n

1. IT Digital Asset Lifecycle Management

n

n
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement.
n
- Establish and enforce best practices for asset tracking, compliance, and financial management.
n
- Ensure alignment with IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) policies.
n
- Ensure CIs are accurately identified, classified, and registered in the CMDB.
n
- Maintain and improve CMDB data quality, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with governance standards.
n
- Define and enforce policies for CI relationships, dependencies, and version control.
n

3. Process Improvements & Automation

n

n
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation in asset and configuration management to enhance efficiency.
n
- Work with IT teams to streamline change management and incident response through better configuration data.
n
- Continuously refine IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (ITCM) processes to improve visibility and control.
n
- Conduct regular CMDB audits to detect inconsistencies, missing records, and compliance gaps.
n
- Implement data validation and reconciliation mechanisms to ensure ongoing CMDB accuracy.
n
- Work closely with IT security and compliance teams to support audit requirements and regulatory adherence.
n

Data Analysis & Reporting

n

- Analyse large sets of asset and configuration data to derive insights and drive decision-making.
n
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on key asset and configuration KPIs, such as asset utilization, compliance, and service levels (CSLs).
n
- Provide actionable insights to optimise IT asset usage, reduce costs, and improve service reliability.
n

Capabilities Technical & Functional Competencies

n

n
- Strong expertise in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management (ITCM) best practices.
n
- Deep knowledge of CMDB structures, CI relationships, and IT service dependencies.
n
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ITSM platforms, and asset management tools.
n
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large datasets using ServiceNow PA, Power BI, or other reporting tools.
n
- Understanding of automation tools and scripting to streamline asset tracking and configuration processes.
n
- Knowledge of ITIL frameworks, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
n
- Robust problem-solving and analytical mindset with attention to detail.
n
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and drive automation adoption.
n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- Ability to collaborate across teams to align asset and configuration management with business goals.
n
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk management and operational efficiency.
n

Duration: 06 Months and possible extension
