Position: Diesel Mechanic or Trailer Mechanic
Location: Port of Brisbane, QLD
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose & Repair – Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across diesel trucks and trailers, including fuel systems, transmissions, braking systems, and electrical components.
- Routine Maintenance – Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, and repairs to ensure optimal vehicle performance and reliability.
- Documentation & Reporting – Maintain accurate service and repair records,
ensuring compliance and clear communication with management.
- Safety Compliance – Follow all workplace health and safety procedures to maintain a secure working environment for yourself and your team.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience working on heavy transport trucks and trailers
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across a range of heavy vehicles and trailer systems
- Robust commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Effective communication skills
- HR driver’s licence (highly advantageous given recent yard changes)
- Trailer licence (highly beneficial)
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong time-management and task prioritisation skills

Qualifications
- High school certificate or equivalent
