Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking to establish a pool of Secondary Generalist Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

As a Secondary Generalist Teacher, you will ideally have the capacity to create a caring, engaging and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to diverse learning needs. You will ideally use a trauma-informed approach to ensure all students feel safe, valued and supported, while applying evidence-based, explicit teaching practices to maximise student engagement and progress. At Carnarvon CC, our contextualised Instructional model CIRCLE, works alongside our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) processes to provide a consistent, supportive and purposeful approach to teaching and learning.

You will deliver the Western Australian Curriculum and have an excellent understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework. We seek teachers with strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students successfully. Suitable applicants will ideally have the capacity to teach one or more learning areas, remaining motivated and committed to creating an engaging,



inclusive, and challenging learning environment. You will ideally be flexible, possess a strong work ethic, and develop positive, productive partnerships with students, colleagues, and the community.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south westteachers





Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South WestEducation Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
