Mixed Practice Veterinarian – North West Tasmania

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for a veterinarian who enjoys the variety of mixed practice and is looking to work alongside an experienced, collaborative team. Whether you're an experienced mixed practitioner or looking to further develop your large animal skills, this role offers excellent mentoring, clinical autonomy and an outstanding lifestyle.

The Role

n

This is a true mixed practice position comprising approximately:

n

n
- 70% Small Animal
n
- 30% Large Animal, with a strong dairy focus
n

n

The practice works closely with progressive dairy farms, beef properties and lifestyle farms while also providing a diverse and rewarding companion animal caseload.

n

Full-time veterinarians enjoy:

n

n
- Four-day working week
n
- Clinic hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm
n
- No weekend consulting
n
- Shared after-hours roster with generous on-call remuneration
n

n

About the Practice

n

Our client is a well-established, independently owned mixed practice equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities to support a high standard of patient care.

n

Small Animal Facilities

n

The clinic is equipped with:

n

n
- In-house laboratory
n
- Digital radiography
n
- Diagnostic ultrasound
n
- Dedicated dental suite with dental radiography
n
- Orthopaedic surgical equipment
n




- Modern anaesthetic machines and patient monitoring equipment
n

n

The team also works closely with visiting specialist surgeons, allowing exposure to a broad range of interesting medical and surgical cases.

n

Large Animal Facilities

n

The large animal service supports progressive dairy, beef and lifestyle farming clients across the region and includes work such as:

n

- Dairy herd health management
n
- Reproductive services and pregnancy testing
n
- Calvings and emergency work
n
- Lameness investigations
n
- Mastitis management
n
- General farm animal medicine and surgery
n

n

Veterinarians are supported with:

n

n
- Modern portable ultrasound equipment
n
- Wireless herd health technology
n
- Fully equipped veterinary vehicles
n

n

About You

n

The successful candidate will ideally have:

n

n
- Eligibility for veterinary registration in Australia
n
- An interest in both companion animal and production animal medicine
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
n
- A positive, team-focused attitude
n
- A willingness to continue learning and developing professionally
n
- Confidence working independently while knowing when to seek support
n

n

Experienced veterinarians are encouraged to apply,



although applicants looking to expand their mixed practice experience will also be well supported.
