We're looking for an experienced Diploma or ECT qualified educator to step into a Second in Charge role at Marrickville, working alongside the Centre Director to lead the team and deliver a high-quality program aligned with the EYLF and our Shine Advantage Curriculum.

About the role

n

Reporting to the Centre Director, you'll be a key leader in the service - guiding educators, supporting families, and stepping up as Acting Director when required. Your responsibilities will include:

n

Program & practice

n

n
- Planning, implementing and evaluating a developmentally appropriate program for individual children and groups, in line with the EYLF and Shine Advantage Curriculum
n
- Recording observations and using them to inform program planning and support each child's learning
n
- Developing and reviewing daily care routines
n
- Planning for the inclusion of children with additional needs, including children with disabilities, complex health needs, Aboriginal children,



and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
n
- Maintaining a safe, well-resourced learning environment and ensuring the room reflects Rise & Shine's expectations
n

Leadership & team support

n

n
- Leading, mentoring and directing educators across the service
n
- Providing fair, effective day-to-day supervision and modelling best practice
n
- Supervising students on placement and trainees as delegated by the Director
n
- Promoting a culture of continuous learning, accountability and duty of care
n
- Supporting compliance with the NQF, Education and Care Services National Regulations, and centre policies and procedures
n

Families & community

n

n
- Building positive, respectful relationships with families
n
- Providing verbal and written updates to families as delegated by the Director
n
- Encouraging family input into the life of the service
n

n

Administration & compliance

n

n
- Ensuring accurate completion of timesheets and records for your team
n
- Meeting reporting requirements and contributing to administrative improvements
n
- Upholding child protection, WHS, and confidentiality obligations at all times
n
- Assuming the role of Centre Director in their absence
n

What you'll bring

n

n
- AQF Diploma,



Advanced Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
n
- Current Working with Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Asthma, Anaphylaxis and Child Protection training
n
- Sound knowledge of the EYLF, NQF, and relevant regulations
n
- Strong leadership, communication, observation and time-management skills
n
- Confidence using digital tools for documentation and programming
n
- A genuine commitment to children's learning, safety and wellbeing
