Valiant Space is an in-space propulsion company based in Brisbane, Australia. The company designs, manufactures, and tests non-toxic thrusters, space-rated valves, and full propulsion systems for small satellites. The company is growing this year by onboarding current staff and increasing its product line.

This is an exciting time to become a part of Valiant and our journey! We are currently looking for a CNC Machinist to join our team for a fast-paced, hands‐on position that will give you the chance to manufacture spaceflight hardware!

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of a variety of components and sub-assemblies for Valiant Space's propulsion systems, including for flight hardware and ground testing equipment.

Responsibilities

- CNC programming of HAAS Lathe and Milling Machines
n
- Communicate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of parts
n
- Interpret drawings and CAD models and devise manufacturing processes and setups
n
- Assemble components and sub-assemblies
n




- Both prototyping and production machining
n
- Maintain manfuacturing equipment to a high standard
n

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

n

n
- Trade qualified or demonstration of significant machining experience
n
- Proficient with Autodesk Fusion360
n
- Experience with both milling machines and lathes
n
- Good understanding of fundamental engineering concepts
n
- Excellent communication and time management skills
n
- Excellent attention to detail
n
- Proficiency with a wide range of tools and measurement equipment
n

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

n

n
- Up to 3-5 years of machining experience with mechanical engineering design/testing.
n
- Experience with pressure vessel and/or pressure component manufacturing
n
- Experience with machining a variety of materials/alloys (Ti-6Al-4V, Inconel, etc.)
n
- Experience in aerospace or other precision manufacturing industry.
