Substation Maintenance Technician – Permanent - Picton Depot
n
This position is responsible for providing expert technical support, advice, training, and project coordination in the fields of testing, commissioning and / or maintenance of transmission / distribution equipment and providing recommendations in relation to new technologies, system faults, maintenance, and secondary services on networks facilities.
n
This position may also be required to take on specific duties regarding On-Load Tap Changer (OLTCs).
n
Based at our Picton Depot, in the South-West WA region (close to Bunbury).

- In performing this role, the incumbent is required to contribute to an inclusive, effective, and safe working environment by taking responsibility for his / her decisions and behaviours, and the consequences of these.

- Western Power's regulatory obligation to provide a safe and reliable network is dependent on timely delivery of a cost-efficient return of faulted plant to service.
n
- Maintaining and contributing to a safe working environment.
n
- Manage own allocated workload while coordinating technical work and training attendance across work groups.
n
- Perform or coordinate complex technical work on Western Power networks.
n
- Make the best use of assigned resources such as plant, labour hire resources and contract service providers to meet planned outputs.
n
- Make the best use of assigned resources to meet planned outputs, while sustaining high attention to detail levels.
n
- Provide specialist guidance and share technical knowledge and experience to others within the immediate and wider teams.
n
n
What Makes You a Great Fit
n
n
- Completion of a Trade qualification.
n
- Current Electrical Workers License.
n
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
n
- Demonstrated extensive technical experience, preferably in the Networks business.
n
- Extensive knowledge of networks construction, maintenance and operations field practices and procedures.
n
- Proven experience in managing conflict resolution with positive communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Experience with continuous improvement, training, and coaching techniques.
n
- Hold all appropriate industry licences or certificates of competency.
n
