Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
n
This is not just a teaching job. It is a calling. CAPS Kurrawang is a small, close-knit Christian school serving approximately 85 predominantly Aboriginal (First Nations) students from Kindy to Year 6. The school runs four mixed‐year classes and is proud of its near 80% attendance rate — exceptional by any measure in this space. - Classroom Teaching — Plan and deliver engaging Year 3/4 programmes aligned with the WA Curriculum, adapting to the diverse learning needs of your students.
n
- Student Wellbeing — Build genuine, caring relationships with students and their families — you will often be at the coalface of their world, not just their education.
n
- Collaborative Practice — Work as part of a tight‐knit team where co‐ownership of the school environment is the norm.
n
- Cultural Engagement — Embrace and integrate First Nations perspectives into your teaching with humility and a genuine willingness to learn from this community.
n
- Community Connection — Actively engage with students' families and the broader Kurrawang community as a trusted and visible presence.
n
- Faith Integration — Support and uphold the school's Christian ethos, participating in staff devotions, prayer, and the school's Christ‐centred approach to education.
