About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial records of a portfolio of SME clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. The Senior Bookkeeper will work closely with other members of the team to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day to day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Maintain accurate and up to date financial records, including general ledger, balance sheet, and profit and loss
- Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS, including GST reconciliation
- Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Prepare year end workpapers and reconciled files for handover to the tax team
- Onboard new clients, including file setup,



migrations, and cleaning up existing ledgers
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team

About you

- Cert IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping as a minimum. A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is well regarded
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting, with time in an accounting firm or bookkeeping practice managing multiple client files
- Robust knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
