This well-established boutique family law firm on Sydney's Lower North Shore is seeking an organised, proactive, and people-focused professional to oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice. Working closely with the Directors, you'll play a key role in ensuring the firm runs smoothly, supporting the team, and driving efficient processes across the business.
The Role
This is a varied position where you'll be responsible for the operational side of the firm, allowing the lawyers to focus on delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and mentoring the firm's paralegal team
- Overseeing workflows and ensuring processes are running efficiently
- Reviewing, implementing and improving office procedures where required
- Managing the firm's billing process and ensuring invoices are issued in a timely manner
- Providing general practice management support to the Directors
- Assisting with HR-related matters such as onboarding, staff support and performance processes (experience in HR is highly regarded but not essential)
- Acting as the go-to person for the administrative and operational functions of the firm
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, supporting people, and keeping a business running efficiently.
Ideally you'll have:
- Previous experience as an Office Manager,
Practice Manager or Operations Manager
- Experience within a law firm is highly desirable, however candidates from other professional services environments (such as accounting or consulting) are encouraged to apply
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing support staff
- Experience overseeing billing and administrative processes
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A proactive approach with a passion for improving systems and processes
- HR experience or training will be viewed favourably, but is not essential
