Salary: $82,061 - $111,363 (Full time equivalent) plus 17% superannuation plus annual leave loading
Position: Part-time (0.2 - 0.6FTE), 2-year fixed term contract (multiple positions available)
Location: Callaghan Campus or Central Coast Clinical School
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to support and inspire the next generation of medical professionals. As an Associate Lecturer in Clinical Education, you will deliver engaging Phase 1 tutorials (Years 1 and 2), provide academic mentoring and guidance, and contribute to assessment and quality assurance activities that enhance the student learning experience.
You will work alongside experienced academic colleagues to evaluate existing educational practices and develop innovative approaches that strengthen teaching and learning within the Joint Medical Program (JMP). You will also play an important role in identifying and referring students to appropriate support services when needed.
Positions may be based at the Callaghan or Gosford Hospital campus, depending on operational needs and candidate preference where possible. Face-to-face teaching on designated days will be a core component of the role.
About you
You are an enthusiastic clinical educator with a passion for medical education, a commitment to evidence-informed teaching, and a desire to contribute to an inclusive and collaborative academic community.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Professional expertise: Completed tertiary studies and/or have equivalent qualifications in medicine, nursing, allied health, or related area.
Evidence of recent professional practice relevant to the discipline and registration with the relevant professional body where applicable.
- Quality Teaching: Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality teaching and respond constructively to feedback from learners, peers or supervisors.
- Curriculum Development: Demonstrate recent ability to prepare and deliver lectures, present tutorials, seminars, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, or clinical sessions.
- Engagement: Ability to efficiently perform in allocated internal roles, sharing academic service responsibilities and contributing to outcomes of internal committees.

About Us
The School of Medicine and Public Health is one of the largest Schools within the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing. Its educational strengths include the Bachelor of Medical Science & Doctor of Medicine Joint Medical Program (JMP) and postgraduate programs in traumatology and public health. The School works closely with the Hunter New England and Central Coast Local Health Districts to deliver and promote interprofessional learning and team-oriented health research.
The 5-year Joint Medical Program is a unique partnership between the University of Newcastle, the University of New England and the Hunter New England and Central Coast Local Health Districts.
