Tomaree Hospital, nestled in Port Stephens, invites passionate and experienced Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice to join the team.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined and required by HNELHD.
n
- Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD.
n
- Provision of education and research as determined and required by HNELHD.
n
- Demonstrate medical expertise with recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice.
n
- Contribute to teaching and support for staff and trainees to develop knowledge.
n
- Communicate effectively with patients, students, health professionals and the public (oral and written).
n
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary framework and with stakeholders in various settings.
n
- Engage in management activities, leadership, safety and quality improvement where applicable.
n
- Pursue ongoing professional development and clinical governance.
n
- Advocate for improvements in individual and societal health.
n
n
Qualifications
n
n
- Primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRMM, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
n
- Evidence of medical expertise in General Practice.
n
- Evidence of scholarship and ability to teach and support staff and trainees.
n
- Evidence of strong communication skills, collaboration, and adaptability within a changing health system.
n
- Evidence of professional development and clinical governance.
n
