EL2 AWS Cloud Solutions Architect – General Manager, Recruitment Services

Base pay range: A$100.00/hr - A$160.00/hr

Employment type: Contract (12 month initial term with potential 12 month extension)

Locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra or Adelaide – Hybrid working options available

About the Role

n

We are seeking an experienced EL2 AWS Cloud Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership and deliver high‐quality architecture solutions across digital channels for a Federal Government Department. This role offers an prospect to shape enterprise‐class cloud platforms that support mobile, web, and integrated digital services.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead the design and delivery of technically robust, secure, and scalable cloud solutions across digital channels, including mobile applications, websites, and portals.
n
- Ensure all architecture aligns with business strategy, technology roadmaps, and enterprise standards.
n
- Provide expert advice, resolve complex issues, and support stakeholders across projects and programs.
n
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation, visualisations, and knowledge artefacts to guide delivery teams.
n
- Engage with enterprise architects, solution leads, business representatives, and development teams to maintain solution alignment across domains.
n
- Develop high‐quality cloud solution architectures and ensure compliance with reference models, principles, policies, and strategic ICT roadmaps.
n




- Translate tactical and strategic business objectives into detailed technical designs.
n
- Provide oversight and guidance during project delivery to resolve complex technical issues.
n
- Actively manage stakeholder relationships and represent the Department in technical discussions.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of architecture practices, documentation, and knowledge management.
n

Essential Skills and Experience

n

n
- Extensive AWS Cloud solutions architecture experience, including enterprise‐class platforms.
n
- Deep expertise in digital channels architecture for mobile and web applications with complex enterprise integrations.
n
- Knowledge of modern identity management and cybersecurity protocols for large‐scale applications.
n
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of translating business requirements into technical solutions.
n
- Proven ability to influence technical and business audiences, balancing strategic and tactical objectives while mitigating risks.
n

Desirable Skills and Experience

n

n
- Experience with enterprise RESTful web services, Web Content Management, CRM, Mulesoft, feature flagging, or GraphQL.
n
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science, or related fields.
n
- Industry experience in health, insurance, or other sectors with large customer bases and complex supply chains.
n
- TOGAF or equivalent IT architectural certification; AWS Cloud architecture certifications.
n
