Newcastle & District Nursing Service (NDNS) is seeking compassionate and reliable Care Workers and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to join our Community Care Team supporting clients throughout Newcastle and surrounding areas.

n

About the Role

n

As an AIN or Community Care Worker, you will provide person-centred support to older Australians in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Personal care including showering, dressing, grooming and toileting assistance
n
- Mobility assistance and transfers
n
- Medication reminders and prompts in accordance with care plans and organisational policies
n
- Continence support and catheter bag care in accordance with training and competency requirements
n
- Domestic assistance and light household duties
n
- Social support and community access
n
- Accurate documentation and progress notes
n
- Reporting changes in client wellbeing to the care team
n
- Building positive and supportive relationships with clients and their families
n
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) or Assistant in Nursing qualification
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
n




- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Current Australian Driver Licence
n
- Reliable motor vehicle with comprehensive insurance
n
- Smartphone and basic computer skills
n
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to person-centred care
n
- Minimum of 6 months experience in aged care, disability support or similar community care role
n
