ABOUT THE ROLE
n
Norton Gold Fields is seeking aSenior UG Mine Planning Engineerto join our Technical Services team.
n
This role will lead underground mine planning and project study work, including life-of-mine planning, mine design, scheduling, cost modelling, technical evaluations and project studies.
n
You will provide practical planning support to help underground operations achieve protected production, budget and long-term business objectives, while working closely with geology, geotechnical, survey, ventilation, operations and finance teams.
n
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
n
n
- Undertake and support underground project studies, including mine design, scheduling, cost estimation and economic evaluation.
n
- Develop and maintain practical life-of-mine plans that support operational and business objectives.
n
- Prepare underground development, production and infrastructure designs.
n
- Complete stope optimisation, cut-off grade analysis and mining scenario assessments.
n
- Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and long-term production schedules.
n
- Develop capital and operating cost inputs for project evaluations and business cases.
n
- Identify key risks,
constraints and opportunities within mine plans and project studies.
n
- Work closely with geology, geotechnical, survey, ventilation, operations and finance teams.
n
- Ensure planning assumptions, designs and schedules are practical, clearly documented and technically sound.
n
- Deliver planning and study work within agreed timeframes.
n
- Provide technical support and guidance to site engineers and less-experienced team members where required.
n
- Assist with technical reviews, due diligence and other underground planning work as required.
n
- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and active participation in site initiatives.
n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
n
n
- Bachelor or Master of Mining Engineering.
n
- Minimum 3–5 years' underground mining experience, including mine planning experience.
n
- Candidates with less experience may be considered where they demonstrate strong technical capability in underground planning and project studies.
n
- Experience in long-term mine planning, mine design, scheduling and project evaluation.
n
- Understanding of underground mining methods, geology, geotechnical requirements and production practices.
n
- Knowledge of risk assessment and relevant Western Australian mining safety legislation.
n
- Competent user of Deswik software.
n
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
n
- Experience in cost modelling or economic evaluation is desirable.
n
- WA First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency desirable.
n
