We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting and taxation services, providing excellent opportunities for professional development within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities:
n
n
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and individuals.
n
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning by analysing business performance and identifying opportunities for improved financial outcomes.
n
- Develop and implement accounting policies, financial procedures and reporting processes to support sound financial management and compliance.
n
- Analyse financial data, operating costs, revenue trends and expenditure to provide practical recommendations that improve business performance and profitability.
n
- Provide advice to clients on taxation matters, business structures, cash flow management and financial strategies that align with their commercial objectives.
n
- Conduct financial reviews and due diligence work, assisting with business acquisitions, business sales, restructures, valuations and other advisory engagements.
n
- Assist with audits, financial investigations and compliance reviews, preparing supporting documentation and reports where required.
n
- Recommend suitable accounting software and technology solutions, assist with implementation, and provide ongoing support to ensure efficient financial record-keeping.
n
- Evaluate and strengthen internal control procedures to help clients safeguard assets, manage financial risks and improve operational efficiency.
n
- Liaise with clients, the ATO, ASIC, and other regulatory authorities.
n
- Assess cash flow requirements, financial viability and potential risks associated with business initiatives and capital investment decisions.
n
- Keep up to date with Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation.
n
- Collaborate with senior accountants and managers to deliver high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory service
n

Requirements - capabilities and competencies
n
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
n
- A minimum of 1years' experience in a public practice accounting firm (graduates with strong internship experience are encouraged to apply).
n
- Working knowledge of Australian taxation legislation and accounting principles.
n
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or APS is highly regarded.
n
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
n
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines.
n
- CPA or CA studies (completed or in progress) will be highly regarded.
n
- Mandarin language skills are advantageous due to our client base.
