Veterinary Director - Greencross Cannington

n
- Full-time
n
n
At Greencross Cannington, we lead with care that feels personal. For every pet we see, there's a family trusting us with something they love. That matters here, and it shapes how we practice, how we communicate, and how we show up for each other.
n
If you're already a Vet Director or you're an experienced Vet Associate ready for the next step, this is a place where your ideas are welcomed, your standards are backed, and your leadership has room to make a real difference.
n
We're a warm, welcoming team who value excellent medicine and real relationships. We take pride in being the clinic our clients come back to because they feel looked after, not rushed.
n
You'll be supported by an experienced Area Manager and Regional Clinical Director, so you can lead with confidence while still staying close to the floor and the medicine.
n
The lifestyle around you
n
Cannington is around 12 km south of Perth's CBD, with easy access to public transport and major roads. It's a convenient base with plenty nearby, plus green spaces like Canning River Regional Park for the kind of weekends that reset you.
n
What you'll do as our Veterinary Director
n
This is a hands‐on leadership role where we'll trust you to guide the clinic forward, bring your ideas to life, and set the tone for how we care.
n
Set and protect clinical standards, making excellent care the everyday norm
n
Coach and mentor, helping others grow their capability and confidence
n
Create a steady, supportive rhythm across consults, surgery, client communication and team wellbeing
n
Build a clinic environment where clients feel known and pets feel safe
n
Partner with our Greencross network for collaboration, learning, and pathways
n
Who will thrive here
n
You'll fit right in if you:
n
Lead in a calm, practical way, with clear expectations and plenty of encouragement
n
Enjoy uplifting others and helping a team do their best work
n
Bring solid surgical and medical confidence, and you're always curious to keep learning
n
Communicate with empathy, especially when emotions run high
n
Like taking ownership of outcomes, culture and the way the clinic feels to work in
n
What we back you with
n
We want you doing your best clinical and leadership work, not drowning in admin or doing it alone.
n
Bespoke continuing education, including Australia's largest Veterinary Clinical Conference, workshops, online modules and cross-clinic mentoring
n
Access to VIN, Plumbs, The Vet Vault and other clinical resources
n
Career pathways across our specialist and referral network, including sponsored memberships and scholarships for approved applicants
n
Heidi AI note taking to streamline clinical notes and workflow
n
Flexible working arrangements where possible, built around sustainability
n
AVA membership or annual veterinary registration support (as applicable)
n
Great discounts across Greencross Vets, the Animal Referral and Emergency Network and Petbarn
n
Relocation and visa support
n
If you're relocating, we'll support your move. Greencross offers visa sponsorship and relocation assistance for you and your family, and Perth's international connections make travel to and from home far easier than many expect.
n
Registration requirements
n
To be eligible, you'll need a Veterinary Science qualification recognised by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC) and/or completion of NAVLE, AVE or equivalent pathways.
