About the Opportunity
- Join a skilled, multi-disciplinary team providing the tools, services, and expertise to enable researchers to effectively manage data throughout the research lifecycle.
- Play a pivotal role within a major Federal Government agency, ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of data capture, analysis, and storage while supporting organisational risk reduction and compliance.

- Contract/Engagement: Initial 6-month contract.
Role & Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve complex client problems, managing support requests and escalations within enterprise IT support guidelines and ticketing systems.
- Support the planning, description, storage, and sharing of research metadata, datasets, and software to encourage continuous improvements in data management practices.
- Capture user needs, maintain feature backlogs, and develop user stories for development sprints to support research data management products and change management activities.
- Develop and deliver specialised trainingvia written documentation, online/in-person workshops, or recorded presentations to uplift researcher skills and streamline data practices.
- Advise on data management workflows, assisting stakeholders with the adoption of enterprise data systems, sensitive data handling, and digital preservation.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Demonstrated experience using service management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Teams, and enterprise ITSM tools) for effective user support, alongside knowledge of data repositories, archives, data catalogues, and research data management planning tools.
- Experience: A relevant bachelor's degree in science, technology, or information management, or equivalent relevant work experience, combined with a strong understanding of the research lifecycle, data workflow mapping, data retention schedules, and information security principles.
- Core Capabilities: Strong liaison, interpersonal, and communication skills to build relationships across disciplines, proactively collaborate with dispersed teams, and drive change for best practice data management.
Eligibility & Clearance Requirements
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this workplace, candidates must hold a current Baseline security clearance.
