Your new role
n
As an APS6 or EL1 Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting budget development, coordination and delivery activities. Working across complex and high-profile priorities, you'll provide strategic financial advice and contribute to decisions with significant organisational impact.
n
Key responsibilities include
n
n
- Providing strategic budget and financial management advice to senior stakeholders
n
- Supporting Commonwealth Budget submissions, implementation and coordination activities
n
- Analysing complex financial information and preparing recommendations
n
- Developing high-quality briefing materials, reports and budget documentation
n
- Engaging with central agencies and internal stakeholders on budget-related matters
n
- Monitoring financial performance and contributing to effective resource management
n
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across budgeting, reporting and financial processes
n
- Contributing to policy development, strategic planning and decision-making activities
n
n
What you need to succeed
n
Must be an Australian citizen with Baseline/NV1 security clearance
n
To be successful in this role, you'll demonstrate:
n
n
- Experience in budgeting, financial management, management accounting or financial analysis
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Proven stakeholder engagement experience and the ability to influence outcomes
n
- Experience preparing briefings, reports and advice for senior leaders
n
- An understanding of the APS financial management environment and Commonwealth Budget processes will be highly regarded
n
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
n
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, economics, commerce, public policy or a related discipline are desirable
n
