Job Description

Pinho Dental As a Dental Technician, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, modifying and repairing dental appliances and restorations to support our restorative, prosthetic and implant-related dental services. Working from prescriptions, impressions, digital scans and technical specifications provided by dental practitioners, you will produce accurate, functional and aesthetically appropriate dental appliances using traditional laboratory techniques and digital dental technologies.

Benefits Salary: AUD $75,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation Task & responsibilities Construct, modify and repair full and partial dentures and other removable dental appliances in accordance with dental prescriptions and technical specifications. Fabricate dental appliances and restorations, including dentures, crowns, bridges, mouthguards, splints, retainers and removable orthodontic appliances. Produce prosthetic components and restorations used in conjunction with dental implant and tooth replacement treatments.

Create and prepare dental models from impressions and digital records supplied by dental practitioners. Use CAD/CAM systems and other digital dental technologies to design and manufacture dental restorations and appliances. Select and prepare appropriate dental materials, including acrylics, resins, ceramics, metals and other materials used in dental appliance fabrication.

Build, shape, trim, polish and finish dental appliances and restorations to achieve the required fit, function and aesthetic appearance. Repair,



adjust and reline dentures and other dental appliances in accordance with practitioner instructions. Review dental prescriptions, models, scans and technical specifications to determine fabrication requirements.

Undertake shade matching, contouring and finishing procedures to achieve appropriate colour, form and appearance. Inspect completed appliances and restorations for accuracy, fit, finish and quality before release to the treating dental practitioner. Liaise with dentists and other dental practitioners regarding technical requirements, appliance specifications, modifications and laboratory outcomes.

Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation relating to appliances, restorations, materials and completed work. Operate and maintain dental laboratory equipment and ensure instruments, machinery and work areas are maintained appropriately. Follow infection control, workplace health and safety and applicable quality procedures when handling dental materials, impressions and appliances.

Qualification & experience Qualifications Relevant qualification at the level of a Bachelor degree. Experience Relevant experience in dental technology or dental laboratory work. Experience constructing,



modifying and repairing dentures and other dental appliances.

Experience fabricating dental restorations and prosthetic components, including crowns and bridges. Experience working from dental impressions, models, digital scans and practitioner prescriptions. Experience using dental laboratory equipment and digital technologies, including CAD/CAM systems.

Experience working with dental materials and applying appropriate fabrication and finishing techniques. Skills Strong technical knowledge of dental appliance, prosthetic and restoration fabrication. High level of manual dexterity and precision when constructing and finishing dental appliances.

Competence in CAD/CAM and other relevant digital dental technologies. Knowledge of dental materials, fabrication techniques and finishing procedures. Ability to interpret dental prescriptions, impressions, models, digital scans and technical specifications.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, functionality and aesthetic quality. Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with dentists and other dental practitioners. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage laboratory workloads and deadlines.

Sound knowledge of infection control, WHS and secure dental laboratory practices.
