We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Contracts Administrator to join our team and support the successful commercial and contractual management of projects from commencement through to completion. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across contracts, commercial administration, project teams and stakeholders. You will play an important role in ensuring contractual obligations are managed effectively, commercial risks are identified early, and project documentation and processes are kept accurate and up to date.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and manage commercial contracts throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret contract terms, conditions and commercial requirements.
- Prepare, review and maintain contract documentation, correspondence and registers.
- Manage variations, extensions of time, claims and other contractual notices.
- Assist with progress claims, payment schedules, invoices and commercial reporting.
- Monitor contractual obligations, key dates, deliverables and project milestones.
- Support the identification, assessment and management of commercial and contractual risks.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams regarding contractual matters.
- Assist with subcontractor procurement, engagement and administration where required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure contractual documentation is properly filed and controlled.
About you
- Previous experience in a Contracts Administrator, Commercial Administrator or similar commercial role.
- Experience working with construction, engineering, infrastructure, property or another project-based industry.
- A sound understanding of commercial contracts and contract administration principles.
- Experience with variations, claims, progress payments and subcontractor management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and document management skills.
- The ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- A practical, commercial approach to problem solving.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
