NumberWorks'nWords Concord is looking for bubbly and enthusiastic tutors to join our friendly, fun-loving team. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive environment where students genuinely enjoy learning.
This role is a great fit for university students in the early part of tertiary study. Although we will consider candidates who can teach English and/or maths to primary and/or high school students, we are currently prioritising those who are specifically confident teaching English to high school students.
About the Role
This is a casual tutoring position with flexible hours across our school term schedule, including some school holiday programs. All training is provided on the job and is fully paid. Everything you need is provided in the centre, you just bring your enthusiasm and knowledge.
You'll get the chance to share your passion by helping students in small groups of up to three, to unlock their true potential in a fun and supportive setting.
We're looking for tutors who can commit to a minimum of two shifts per week. Our centre is open Monday to Friday 3:30pm to 7:30pm. We also have a second location in Leichhardt, where some additional shifts may be available if this is suitable for successful applicants.
Why You'll Love Working Here
- You'll work with a diverse range of students in terms of age and ability.
- Fully paid training to help you do your very best.
- Consistent shifts every week so you can plan around your studies and other committments.
- Rewarding work, helping your students gain confidence and achieve success.
- A vibrant, fast-paced environment where we celebrate success.
- Valuable skills you can take into your future full-time career.
- A supportive team where you will feel valued.
About You
- You have a passion for maths and/or English, great communication skills and genuinely enjoy working with children. You have a bubbly, approachable personality and work well as part of a team.
- No previous tutoring experience or formal qualifications are required.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have completed advanced levels of English and/or maths in high school and have a strong understanding of the Australian school curriculum.
- Availability from 3:20pm on at least two weekdays is essential, as our students come to us straight after school. We welcome applications from candidates with varying availability across our business hours. At this stage, we have a particular need for tutors available Monday through Thursday, so availability on these days will be highly regarded.
What You'll Need
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid working visa with full working rights in Australia
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing
