The RNA is seeking a Maintenance All-Rounderto join our Facilities and Operations team to help ensure the Brisbane Showgrounds is safe, well maintained and ready for daily operations and major events.
Working across the precinct, you will support the ongoing maintenance, repair and operational requirements of our buildings, grounds, equipment and assets. You will also play an important role in preparing the site for major events, including the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka).
We are looking for someone who is reliable, capable and takes initiative. Someone who can identify what needs to be done, work through issues and contribute to keeping the precinct operating at a high standard.
This is a Fixed-term (12 months) Full-Time opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily facilities operations, repairs and maintenance activities
Assist trades with event setup and pack down requirements
Complete building, asset and pre/post event inspections
Undertake general maintenance tasks and support contractors as required
Operate plant and equipment including forklift and EWP where required
Monitor utilities, vehicles and fixed plant requirements
Support event bump-in, daily operations and bump-out activities
Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and risk management
You will bring:
Minimum 5 years’ general maintenance experience preferred
Trade background highly regarded
Strong understanding of building maintenance and safety requirements
Experience completing repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance activities
Valid Forklift and EWP licences highly regarded
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced workplace
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and event periods as required
Experience within facilities, venues, events, hospitality or large-scale operational environments will be highly regarded.

The RNA runs the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka), Queensland's largest event, on behalf of the community for 9 days each year in August. Staged at its original birthplace, the Brisbane Showgrounds, the Ekka showcases its unique tradition and heritage by bringing the city and country together for a once-a-year get-together. On average 400,000 people gather to see thousands of exhibits, 10,000 animals, world-class entertainment and taste award-winning food and wine.
