Urgent requirement of Data & Analytics Reporting Lead - Contract - Sydney

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- 1. Team Leadership & Delivery Managementn n
- Manage day-to-day activities of the reporting and analytics team.
n
- Oversee team deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
n
- Monitor and review team members' workload, time tracking, and task updates.
n
- Ensure all BAU activities are completed within agreed SLAs.
n
- Conduct sprint planning sessions, daily stand-ups, and sprint retrospectives.
n
- Ensure accurate and consistent updates in sprint tracking tools.
n
- Prepare and present sprint summary reports and presentation packs at sprint closure.
n

- 2. Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Managementn

n
- Lead stakeholder requirement gathering workshops and sessions.
n
- Translate business requirements into transparent technical specifications.
n
- Ensure deliverables align with agreed business requirements.
n
- Act as the primary escalation point for reporting-related issues.
n

n
- 3. Quality Assurance & Governancen

n
- Review all Power BI solutions to ensure:n n
- Data models follow best practices (star schema, relationships, performance optimization).
n
- DAX measures are efficient and optimized.
n
- Power Query transformations are structured and maintainable.
n
- Reports adhere to enterprise design templates and standards.
n

n
- Review Power Automate flows to ensure:n

n
- Robust error handling.
n
- Scalability and maintainability.
n
- Compliance with governance and security standards.
n

n
- Ensure all solutions are production-ready, robust,



and well-documented.
n

n
- 4. Data Engineering Oversightn

n
- Review data pipelines built by Data Engineers (e.g., ingestion, transformation, orchestration).
n
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
n
- Validate testing coverage and ensure appropriate QA processes are followed.
n
- Optimize and improve pipeline performance where required.
n
- Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with architecture standards.
n

- 5. Technical Leadership & Hands-on Supportn

n
- Provide technical guidance to the team on:n n
- Power BI data modelling
n
- Advanced DAX
n
- Power Query
n
- Data ingestion and transformation (Databricks)
n
- Power Automate
n

n
- Support development activities during peak workload periods or where capacity allows.
n
- Identify opportunities for performance optimization and automation improvements.
n

n

n

Key Skills & Experience

n

Technical Skills

n

n
- Strong expertise in Power BI (Data Modeling, DAX, Power Query) and Databricks
n
- Experience reviewing and optimizing complex Power BI data models.
n
- Experience with Power Automate workflows and governance.
n
- Strong understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL/ELT, pipelines, orchestration).
n
- Experience reviewing code (SQL, Python, or relevant data engineering languages).
n
- Knowledge of data architecture best practices and performance optimization techniques
n

n

Duration: 06 Months and possible extension
