Why this role is important
n
n
- In this role, you will support the implementation of processes, policies, and procedures ensuring the accuracy of accounting and reporting.
n
- You will play a major part in the financial month-end closing and reporting process by managing complex journal entries for the company.
n
- You will partner with key business stakeholders and business finance partners to provide accounting guidance for all functional areas and to ensure adherence to applicable guidance, policies, and processes.
n
- Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for the monthly, quarterly, and yearly close process with a primary focus on Expense accounting, including network and usage analysis, and dispute process management/resolution, but will support other expense areas as required
n
- Support cross functional teams with systems implementation and testing of financial data to ensure completeness and accuracy
n
- Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations (heavy emphasis on subledger experience) ensuring proper supporting documentation and identifying and escalating potential issues
n
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial management reports, including variance analysis on GAAP statements
n
- Analyze and document income statement and balance sheet fluctuations monthly, with an emphasis on prepaid expense management
n
- Liaise with teams across multiple departments and locations to obtain and distribute financial information
n
- Provide support and assessment for external and internal audit activities as necessary, SOX experience preferred
n
- Continuously review tasks and enhance analysis and analytical processes and controls to implement improvements /efficiencies
n
- Ensure effective working relationships with key business partners
n
- Perform special projects, interpret complicated financial information and any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned
n

Background that fits
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
n
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate accounting or financial reporting setting
n
- Experience organizing a large volume of information and identifying and deploying automation tools/solutions
n
- Proficiency in the use of database tools and financial reporting packages
n
- Clear communicator, experience running meetings effectively, and to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience
n
- Complete ownership and accountability of the function given the deadline-oriented nature of the position
n
- Adaptable to changing business environment and organizational structure
n
