Job Description

- Casual engagement over 8-week terms on weekdays 3.30pm - 9.00pm
n
- Band 5 from $53.52 per hour (including 25% casual loading) + 12% superannuation
n
- Based at MC2, Doncaster in our fully equipped visual arts and ceramics studios
n

We are seeking passionate and experienced Art
n Tutors to join our casual team at ManninghamArt Studios. This is an exciting opportunity for practicing artists to
n share their expertise and contribute to an inclusive and welcoming creative
n learning environment.
n
As an Art Tutor, you will develop and deliver
n engaging visual arts and ceramics programs for adults, young people and
n children. You will inspire creativity, support skill development and help connect
n people from across our community through making art together.
n
For this round of casual recruitment, we are interested
n in engaging artists that can teach ceramics including wheelwork and hand
n building in a community arts setting.
n

About the Role
n
We deliver
n a dynamic program of visual arts and ceramics courses, workshops and
n public programs for children, young people and adults in our fully equipped and
n purpose-built art studios set in a busy community centre.
n
You will play an important role in bringing art to
n our community by:
n
n
- Developing and delivering engaging creative arts learning experiences tailored to a range of skill levels and interests across an 8-week term.
n
- Creating an inclusive learning workplace that support students from diverse cultural backgrounds and those that may attend with carer support.
n
- Contributing to public programs, events and creative initiatives across the Arts, Culture and Local History team.
n
n
Skills and Experience
n
n
- Demonstrated professional arts practice and experience delivering workshops, classes or community-based arts programs.
n
- Experience teaching visual arts and/or ceramics to a diverse range of participants.
n
- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
n
- The ability to work collaboratively while managing classes independently.
n
- A current Working with Children Check.
n
- A willingness to obtain a First Aid Certificate upon commencement.
n
n
The following will be highly regarded:
n
n
- Experience working with children and young people.
n
- Experience supporting participants with a disability or additional support needs.
n
n
