Overview

Out of Home Care Case Manager – MacKillop Family Services, West Perth, WA, AU. This full-time, on-site role offers career growth opportunities within a supportive OOHC program. The OOHC Case Manager will work collaboratively within a small Case Management Team and with the organisation's wider OOHC team and Carer Recruitment and Development staff to deliver a supportive and effective service to children and young people in Out Of Home Care (OOHC) and their carers. The role provides a high-quality case work service for children and young people residing in foster care and assists in recruiting foster carers, including providing day-to-day support and developing carers' capacity, skills and understanding to meet the needs of the children in their care. This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in West Perth, WA within the OOHC Program. The position reports to the Out of Home Care Coordinator.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide high-quality and effective case work services for children and young people in foster care.
n
- Collaborate with the OOHC Case Management Team and Carer Recruitment and Development staff to deliver coordinated support.
n
- Assist in recruitment of foster carers and support carers to develop capacity, skills and understanding to meet children's needs.
n
- Support the organisation's Sanctuary Model and trauma-informed approaches as part of daily practice.
n

Key Selection Criteria / Qualifications
n
n
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, and awareness of issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and families.
n
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work or other relevant qualification, or equivalent experience.
n
- Experience in OOHC case work practice.
n
- Ability to work therapeutically with children and young people with trauma backgrounds.
n
- Experience in providing support to Aboriginal children, families and/or communities.
n
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work, with well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to interpret and implement organisational policy.
n

- Hourly Rate of $53.43 to $55.85 (SCHADS Award Level 5), dependent on qualifications and experience.

Requirements

- Valid and current Driver's Licence.
n
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid by MacKillop).
n
- Valid Employee Working with Children Check.
n
- Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk-assessed / client-facing roles).
