The Company:

We are working with a global energy technology provider delivering large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Australia. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced a BESS Site Manager to lead on-site installation, commissioning, and integration activities for utility-scale energy storage assets. This is a hands-on role with full responsibility for site delivery, safety, quality, and coordination of electrical commissioning works.

The Role

n

You will be responsible for overseeing on-site electrical installation and commissioning activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Supervising and coordinating electrical commissioning teams on site
n
- Managing installation and integration of BESS units, including PCS and associated electrical systems
n
- Ensuring compliance with WHSE requirements, electrical standards, and site policies
n
- Managing electrical subcontractors and internal commissioning engineers
n
- Troubleshooting electrical and commissioning issues to minimise downtime
n
- Leading daily site activities, toolbox talks, and contractor coordination
n
- Attending principal contractor meetings and cascading information to site teams
n
- Daily reporting of site progress, risks, and issues to project management
n
- Tracking project schedules and supporting on-time delivery
n




- Coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities during commissioning
n
- Ensuring asset quality, reliability, and operational readiness
n

About You

n

n
- Electrical trade qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering
n
- Proven experience supervising electrical works, ideally within renewables or BESS projects
n
- Solid knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and commissioning processes
n
- Confident managing subcontractors, site teams, and multiple stakeholders
n
- Strong organisational, reporting, and leadership capability
n
- Clear focus on safety, quality, and delivery outcomes
n

Highly Regarded

n

n
- Utility-scale BESS commissioning experience, including exposure to BMS, PCS, and EMS/SCADA
n
- Experience commissioning or working alongside tier-one BESS OEM technologies
n
- South Australian A-Grade Electrical License
n
- Exposure to fire suppression systems, HVAC, and protection relays
n
