About the Role
n
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experiencedDesign and Technology Teacher to join our Secondary Years team from September to December 2026.
n
This role provides an exciting opportunity to engage students in innovative and practical learning experiences that develop creative thinking, design processes, technical skills and real-world problem-solving capabilities. Working collaboratively with colleagues and College leaders, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs, support student wellbeing and achievement, and contribute to a culture of educational excellence aligned with the College's future-focused vision.

Key Responsibilities
n
- Plan and deliver engaging Design and Technology programs that align with curriculum requirements and contemporary industry practices.
n
- Develop practical and theoretical learning experiences that foster creativity, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
n
- Differentiate teaching, assessment and learning activities to support the diverse needs and abilities of students.
n
- Monitor student progress, utilise assessment data effectively, and provide timely feedback to support continuous improvement.
n
- Support the pastoral care, wellbeing and positive behaviour development of students within and beyond the classroom.
n
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, co-curricular programs and the broader life of the College.
n
What You Bring
n
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Design, or a related discipline,
together with current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
n
- Demonstrated experience teaching Design and Technology subjects within a secondary school workplace.
n
- Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum development, assessment and reporting practices relevant to Design and Technology education.
n
- Experience integrating contemporary technologies, digital tools and practical learning methodologies into teaching and learning programs.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to support students in design thinking and project-based learning.
n
- Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
n
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage assessment, planning and administrative responsibilities.
n
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, reflective practice and collaborative teamwork.
n
- Willingness to contribute to co-curricular programs and the wider life of the College.
n
- Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.
n

St Peters Lutheran College (Indooroopilly) is a P-12 coeducational day and boarding college of 2,250 students. The Lower Primary with Years Prep-4 has three classes at each level. The Upper Primary provides a program tailored to meet the needs of students in Years 5–6. St Peters Junior High offers Years 7-9 students a program to support young adolescents. The Senior School provides a program for Years 10–12 with the International Baccalaureate Diploma offered alongside VET and QSA courses.
