Join our nationally recognised Geo-environmental team and take a leading role in delivering complex subsurface and earth-structure solutions across major infrastructure, mining, waste, and environmental projects. As a Senior Associate Geo-Environmental Engineer, you will provide technical leadership, deliver cutting-edge engineering solutions, and guide multidisciplinary teams through Australia's most challenging geo-environmental projects.

Responsibilities

n

- Design and deliver innovative engineering solutions for subsurface and earth-structure projects.
n
- Lead complex and challenging projects across geo-environmental engineering, waste and contamination management, mining, hazardous dams, and major infrastructure works.
n
- Develop high-quality technical reports, specifications, drawings, and documentation across all project phases, from concept to decommissioning.
n
- Communicate complex technical issues and guide clients through regulatory frameworks with clarity and confidence.
n
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence.
n
- Manage scope, risks, and environmental impacts across multiple projects of varying scale and complexity.
n
- Lead winning proposals, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to business growth.
n




- Uphold WSP's HSE standards, quality systems, and Code of Ethics, ensuring all work maintains high safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required); Civil, Geotechnical or similar; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
n
- 10+ years' experience across civil, environmental, or geotechnical engineering.
n
- Technical expertise in subsurface environmental risk management, geosynthetics, earthworks and embankments.
n
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project scopes, variations, and delivery outcomes.
n
- Strong project management skills with a commitment to innovation, quality, and timely delivery.
n
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
n
- Demonstrated capability in business development and building robust client partnerships.
n
- High-level safety leadership and experience applying safety-in-design principles.
n
- Experience mentoring and developing early-career engineers and promoting cross-team knowledge sharing.
n
- Advanced Digital Engineering/BIM capability (highly valued).
n
- Current unrestricted Australian driver's license.
