About the role

n

MSS Security is seeking professional, customer-focused Security Officers to join our team at the Parliament of Tasmania in Hobart. With both Casual and Full Time positions available, this is a rare opportunity to work at one of Tasmania's most recognised government landmarks, where you'll play a vital role in protecting elected representatives, staff, visitors, and the historic Parliament precinct. Duties

n

- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to ensure the premises remain secure and free from incidents.
n
- Carry out static guarding duties as required.
n
- Monitor and control entry points, verify identification, and conduct security screenings to prevent unauthorised access.
n
- Accurately document any incidents or security breaches,



ensuring they are communicated to the appropriate personnel.
n
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, following established procedures.
n
- Utilise surveillance equipment to observe the premises and report any unusual activity.
n

Ideal candidates will have

n

n
- A professional demeanour and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
n
- The physical capability to conduct regular patrols and remain at static posts for extended periods.
n
- A solid understanding of security procedures, particularly within a corporate or high-security environment.
n

Requirements

n

n
- Full Australian working rights
n
- Certificate II (or higher) in Security Operations
n
- Valid Tasmanian Security licence
n
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificates (or willing to obtain)
n
- Working With Vulnerable People (or willing to obtain)
n
- Willing to undergo Police Check
n
- Master Licence Number: 5784
