Canberra Light Rail Mechanical Maintenance Technician Job Description:

n

Company Overview:
n Our valued rail services client is one of the leading Australian suppliers of rail vehicles & maintenance services.

n

Role: Certified Electrician, Electrical OR Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a rotating Day & Afternoon shift basis, based at the Canberra, ACT light rail maintenance depot.

n

Responsibilities:

n

n
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on rolling stock according to production plans and policies.
n
- Test, diagnose, and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components, including HVAC systems, using schematics.
n
- Inspect bodywork, roofs, and undercarriages for wear or damage.
n
- Warranty work, repair, or replacement of components and parts.
n

n

Qualifications and Skills:

n

n




- Australian Trade Diploma in Electrotechnology or Mechanical Fitting; Certification III required. Electrical License or dual electrical/mechanical trade highly desirable.
n
- Experience in Rail, Rolling Stock, Light Rail, Bus, Automotive, Earth Moving, or Heavy Diesel Fitting.
n
- Experience with bus vehicles, freight maintenance, or service activities is desirable.
n
- Robust PLC fault finding, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and rectification skills.
n
- Ability to read technical drawings and maintain detailed records.
n

- Pass a pre-employment medical.

- Australian full-time working rights.
n
- Compliance with public health orders.
