About the role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate to join their growing Brisbane office. This role involves handling a broad range of defendant insurance matters, including qualified indemnity, life insurance claims, and public and product liability cases. You'll also manage commercial litigation cases, communicating directly with clients and preparing essential court documents such as pleadings, briefs, and motions.

You will have the opportunity to negotiate settlements, attend mediations and court hearings, and manage court processes. Additionally, you'll provide guidance and mentorship to junior lawyers and support staff, making this a dynamic and fulfilling position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage a variety of defendant insurance claims, focusing on professional indemnity, life insurance, and public/product liability
- Handle commercial litigation matters and provide direct client advice
- Prepare court documents, attend mediations, and manage settlement negotiations




- Mentor junior legal staff and provide guidance on case management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and other practitioners

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

- 3-5 years of post-admission experience in insurance or commercial litigation
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and other practitioners
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- A sharp eye for detail and strong time management skills
