About the role:
At Carinity, we believe life should continue to be filled with purpose, connection and joy, regardless of age. We're looking for a compassionate and creative Diversional Therapist who is passionate about enriching the lives of older people through engaging, person-centred lifestyle programs.

Working alongside our multidisciplinary care team, you'll design and deliver meaningful activities that promote independence, wellbeing and social connection while creating a vibrant community where every resident feels valued and included.

If you're someone who loves bringing people together, building relationships and making a genuine difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.

Your day-to-day will involve:

- Plan, implement and evaluate engaging Diversional Therapy programs that promote emotional, social, and physical wellbeing for aged care residents.
- Develop individualised activity plans tailored to each resident’s cognitive and physical abilities, encouraging participation and purpose.
- Coordinate and promote lifestyle events and recreational activities, including outings and on-site entertainment, in alignment with resident interests and preferences.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with aged care standards, including reporting, assessments, and resident records.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams, volunteers, families, and community groups to enhance the lifestyle experience for residents in a warm and inclusive environment.

About you:

You're someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and has a natural ability to brighten someone's day. Compassionate, creative and enthusiastic, you thrive on building relationships and creating engaging experiences that help older people feel valued, included and connected. You bring a positive attitude, work collaboratively with others and take pride in making a meaningful contribution to the lives of residents and their families.

In addition, you have;

- Certificate 4 in Diversional Therapy or another qualification recognised by Diversional & Recreational Therapy Australia
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role in an Aged Care environment
- Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety Standards relevant to Diversional therapy activities and within an Aged Care setting
- Training and/or demonstrated experience in Dementia care
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain

The advantages of joining the Carinity team

- Appealing not-for-profit (PBI) salary packaging options
- Access to an employee assistance program
- At Carinity we acknowledge the need to balance your work and personal life and are genuinely committed to this
- On-going professional development and training
- Legitimate chance to make a real difference to the community, every day

Carinity actively encourages and invites applications from people with disabilities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people for all our positions.

Due to the inherent requirements of this role and legislative requirements under the Child Employment Act, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
