Are you an experienced HSE Advisor looking for your next opportunity in the mining and heavy industrial sector?
n
We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from motivated and safety‐focused Health, Safety & Setting (HSE) Advisors for upcoming shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance projects across mining and industrial operations in the Gladstone region.
n
These opportunities will support major maintenance campaigns and shutdown activities, offering the chance to work with leading clients in a dynamic and safety‐critical environment.
n
About the Role
n
As an HSE Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with client, company, and legislative requirements.
n
Responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Providing onsite health, safety,
and environmental support during shutdown and maintenance activities
n
- Conducting workplace inspections, audits, and safety observations
n
- Facilitating pre‐start meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
n
- Assisting with risk assessments, JHAs, SWMS, and permit‐to‐work systems
n
- Investigating incidents, hazards, and near misses
n
- Monitoring compliance with site procedures and statutory requirements
n
- Supporting injury management and return‐to‐work programs
n
- Coaching and mentoring supervisors and work crews on safe work practices
n
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and positive safety outcomes
n
n
What We're Looking For
n
To be successful, you will ideally possess:
n
n
- Previous experience as an HSE Advisor within mining, shutdown, maintenance, construction, or heavy industry environments
n
- Strong knowledge of Queensland WHS legislation and industry best practices
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
n
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments
n
- A proactive approach to safety leadership and workforce engagement
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
n
n
Essential Qualifications
n
n
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum requirement)
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain)
n
- Ability to pass pre‐employment medicals and drug & alcohol screening
n
n
Highly Regarded
n
n
- Diploma or higher qualification in WHS, Safety, Occupational Health, or a related discipline
n
- Mining and shutdown experience
n
- ICAM or TapRooT investigation training
n
- Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator experience
n
- Working at Heights and Confined Space certification
n
- Experience with contractor management systems and permit‐to‐work processes
n
- Queensland mining site experience
n
