About The ACT Health Centre
n
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles.
Standard hours of operation are generally 0800-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

- WK1 - Monday & Friday

- WK2 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

- WK4 - Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

What You'll Do
n
Deliver high quality primary healthcare, including health assessments and vaccinations or monitor and manage patients in a low dependency ward setting. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physios, mental health clinicians, and dental professionals. Support Defence members through injury recovery, chronic condition management, and preventative care.

What You Bring
n
n
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse Minimum one year Registered Nurse experience in acute care, primary health care or military setting
n
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
n
- Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
n
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient centred care
n
- Ability to work a 24/7 roster
n
