An exciting opportunity has become available for a Financial Accountant to join a growing and highly regarded infrastructure business based in Sydney.

Working as part of a collaborative Finance team, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the month end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory requirements.

This is a hands on role suited to an experienced Financial Accountant or 1st movers who enjoys working across a broad accounting function and contributing to process improvement.

About the Role

Working as part of a collaborative Finance team, you will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, supporting the month end close, financial reporting, reconciliations and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Prepare and support the monthly month end close
n
- Prepare monthly financial reports and financial analysis
n
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
n




- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounting transactions are accurately recorded
n
- Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and other month end adjustments
n
- Assist with statutory reporting and financial statements
n
- Support tax compliance and reporting requirements
n
- Assist with external audit and year end activities
n
- Manage fixed asset accounting and reconciliations
n
- Assist with intercompany accounting and reconciliations
n
- Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting documentation
n
- Support financial controls and accounting policies
n
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting
n
- Provide financial information and analysis to internal stakeholders
n
- A proactive approach to process improvement
n
- Experience within infrastructure, telecommunications, utilities, property or another asset intensive environment would be highly regarded.

About You

n

n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
n
- CA or CPA qualification, or be working towards completion
n
- 3+ years' experience in financial accounting OR 1st mover from public practice
n
- Robust month end and balance sheet reconciliation experience
n
- Experience with statutory reporting and audit
n
- Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
n
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
