Role

- Support people with MND to understand and use health, social care and third sector support services and exercise choice when accessing services
n
- Empower people affected by MND to engage with health and social care organisations to ensure services are designed to meet their individual needs
n
- Build up and maintain knowledge of local health and social care organisations
n
- Support carers by promoting carers assessments and signposting to carers organisations
n
- Attend support and review meetings and other development events identified
n

You'll be inducted into the role and informed about the Association. As part of this, you will receive e-learning, face-to-face training and mentoring. The training programme will also include experiential and reflective learning.

Time Commitment

n

The time required is adaptable,



but we expect Care Service Navigators may need to be available for 2 – 4 hours per week though this varies and can be flexible.

About the Organisation

The Motor Neurone Disease Association focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

We are a membership organisation with over 10,000 members forming a powerful national and local network that provides information and support.

n

We have over 7,000 active volunteers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and around 170 paid staff, all dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by MND, now and in the future.
