Mechanical Supervisor

Site Based | New South Wales | Defence Projects
n
Shadbolt Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to lead mechanical teams delivering critical works across major Defence projects in Sydney, New South Wales.
n
This is a predominantly site-based leadership role, where you'll supervise Mechanical Fitters, Trade Assistants and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. You'll play a key role in supporting Australia's Defence capability while working within a professional, safety-focused workplace.
n

About The Role
n
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will:
n
n
- Lead and supervise Mechanical Fitters, Trade Assistants and subcontractors.
n
- Coordinate daily mechanical installation, maintenance and commissioning activities.
n
- Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.
n
- Plan labour, materials and equipment to meet project schedules.
n
- Liaise with Project Managers, clients and other trades to deliver successful project outcomes.
n
- Conduct toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and safety inspections.
n
- Monitor productivity, quality and compliance with company and Defence requirements.
n
- Mentor and develop team members to build capability and performance.
n
- Maintain accurate reporting, project documentation and quality records.
n
- Drive a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.
n

You Will Bring
n
n
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
n
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical teams on Defence projects or within Defence environments.
n
- Strong leadership, planning and organisational skills.
n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- A commitment to safety, quality and delivering exceptional results.
n
- Current Driver's Licence.
n
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (essential).
n
