About the Role

We are seeking a Specialist- Risk and Compliance; Location – Melbourne, for a Permanent -Full-time chance.

Purpose of the Role

To support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of The Salvation Army’s Risk, Compliance, Insurance and Business Resilience frameworks. Working under the guidance of a senior specialist, the role contributes to the identification, assessment and management of risks, compliance obligations, incidents and insurance claims through analysis, reporting, root cause investigations and stakeholder support. The role helps strengthen organisational capability by providing practical advice, supporting training and awareness activities and maintaining key systems and processes.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of team frameworks, systems, processes and supporting documentation.
- Analyse compliance breaches, claims and risk events to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct root cause analysis and support the implementation and monitoring of corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop and deliver training, awareness and education initiatives that promote understanding of relevant obligations, frameworks and processes.
- Collect, validate and analyse data, preparing reports and dashboards to support monitoring, governance and decision-making.
- Provide practical advice and support to stakeholders on the application of frameworks, systems, processes and risk management practices.
- Assist with risk assessments, workshops, reviews and business continuity activities.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements, maintaining stakeholder relationships and escalating emerging issues as appropriate.

Education and Qualifications Required

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in risk management, compliance, governance or a related discipline.
- Professional certification, or progress towards certification, in risk management, compliance, governance or business continuity is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management,



compliance, governance, internal audit, insurance or a similar operational environment.
- Experience analysing incidents, claims, audit findings or compliance issues, including identifying trends and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience supporting training, workshops and the application of governance, risk and compliance systems.

Requirements of the role

- Valid driver's license
- Current and valid Working with Children Check
- Criminal History check (police check)
