Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.

About the Role In this role you will deliver quality outcomes for children, young people and families (Leader of Self) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values.

Provide cultural mental health support and consultation to CHQ child and youth acute inpatient units at Queensland Children's Hospital, subacute unit at Jacaranda Place, and community-based services as required.

Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide culturally sensitive care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and their families,

Participate in the development, planning and evaluation of CYMHS with a strong focus on the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers. Provide professional supervision, mentoring and support to CYMHS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, ensuring they are equipped to deliver culturally appropriate care, through organising training sessions focused on cultural competence, mental health best practices and professional development.

Collaboratively leads stakeholder engagement to improve service provision, health equity outcomes and coordination of complex care consumers.

Monitor and review Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers practice standards and supervision arrangements.

Actively participates and contributes in strategic meetings to represent the interests and needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, youth and families.





Maintain Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers professional development and practice standards to ensure adherence to treatment protocols and supervision.
