About you:

You are a high-performing academic in Nursing with a strong background in online learning and teaching, academic leadership, and the end-to-end delivery of online higher education courses. You hold current unconditional AHPRA registration and bring relevant clinical and academic experience, together with a sound understanding of contemporary and emerging online pedagogies and educational technologies. You have a proven ability to lead, mentor and support Unit Coordinators to deliver student-centred, inspiring and creative online teaching.

Purpose of the position

- Lead and manage the high-quality, student-centred delivery of VU Online Nursing courses across the education portfolio and within the College of Sport, Health, and Engineering (CoSHE), ensuring academic excellence, innovation, and strong student outcomes.

- Ensure compliance and accreditation integrity by aligning all teaching, learning, and assessment activities with Victoria University policies, TEQSA’s Higher Education Standards Framework (2021), ANMAC, and other relevant accrediting bodies.

- Drive continuous improvement and collaboration across academic and professional teams to enhance curriculum design, unit design, assessment, the student experience, and operational performance, strengthening VU Online’s position as a national leader in flexible, high-quality digital education.

Selection criteria

1. A doctoral qualification (PhD or equivalent) and/or relevant qualifications and professional experience that satisfy the ANMAC requirements.

2. Currently unconditionally registered with AHPRA, plus relevant clinical and academic experience.

3. Proven record of excellence and innovation in online learning and teaching as well as leadership within Nursing education, with deep understanding of the challenges associated with online learning for students.

4. Extensive experience in the administration and end-to-end delivery of online higher education programs, including curriculum design, assessment, moderation, and quality assurance processes.

5. Demonstrated academic leadership, with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate academic staff to deliver high-quality online learning experiences and achieve strong student outcomes.

6. Proven expertise in course quality assurance and improvement,



including the ability to lead comprehensive course reviews, implement enhancement plans, and align with TEQSA and professional accreditation standards (e.g., ANMAC).

7. Strong understanding of higher education governance, accreditation, and compliance frameworks, including the TEQSA Higher Education Standards Framework (2021), contemporary nursing and midwifery education requirements, and institutional policies.

8. Exceptional written and verbal communication, consultation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build productive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

9. Demonstrated commitment to learning and teaching excellence and continuous skilled growth, with an enthusiasm for advancing innovative, student-centred approaches to online education.

Desired selection criteria

1. Demonstrated research profile as evidenced by high quality publications.

2. Experience practicing in a clinical role or experience in a nursing leadership role.
