About the Role

Position Summary

The Demand & Supply Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and translating demand requirements into effective supply and replenishment plans across Sabrini Foods' product portfolio.

The role will work closely with Sales, Supermarket, Procurement, Import Operations, Inventory Control, Warehouse, Finance and suppliers to ensure the business maintains the right level of inventory to meet customer demand while minimising stockouts, excess inventory and working capital.

The role will play an significant part in the company's S&OP; process and will use data, forecasting tools and planning systems to identify demand and supply risks and provide recommendations to management.

Experience with demand and supply planning software, particularly Netstock, will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

1. Demand Planning & Forecasting

- Develop and maintain accurate SKU-level demand forecasts across the Sabrini Foods product portfolio.
- Analyse historical sales, current trends, seasonality, promotions, customer forecasts and market changes to develop demand forecasts.
- Work closely with Sales and Supermarket teams to understand upcoming customer requirements and promotional activity.
- Incorporate promotional forecasts and new product launches into demand plans.
- Analyse actual sales versus forecast and identify forecast variances and root causes.
- Continuously improve forecast accuracy through data analysis and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Identify changes in demand patterns and proactively communicate potential supply implications.
- Maintain appropriate forecasting parameters within planning systems.

2. Supply Planning & Replenishment

- Translate demand forecasts into supply and replenishment requirements.
- Develop supply plans considering forecast demand, inventory on hand, stock in transit, open purchase orders, supplier lead times, MOQ, safety stock and target stock holdings.
- Monitor inventory coverage and identify potential stock shortages and excess inventory.
- Recommend appropriate purchase quantities and timing to maintain product availability.




- Coordinate with Procurement and Import Operations to ensure supply plans are achievable.
- Monitor supplier lead times and incorporate actual supply performance into planning.
- Identify potential supply constraints and escalates risks before they impact customer service.
- Support the development of inventory optimisation strategies across warehouses and 3PL locations.
- Balance service level, inventory investment and supply risk.
- Utilise demand and supply planning systems to support forecasting, replenishment and inventory optimisation.
- Maintain and monitor planning parameters within Netstock or other planning platforms.
- Review system-generated recommendations and apply appropriate commercial and operational judgement.
- Monitor exceptions, alerts and planning recommendations.
- Ensure planning data is accurate and maintained within the relevant systems.
- Work with the Supply Chain team to improve utilisation of planning technology.
- Support system enhancements, testing and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain planning reports and dashboards.

Netstock experience will be highly regarded, including experience with:

- Demand forecasting
- Replenishment planning
- Inventory optimisation

- Reporting and analytics

5. S&OP; Support

- Support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) process.
- Prepare demand and supply planning information for S&OP; meetings.
- Consolidate and analyse:
- Forecast
- AOP
- Open purchase orders
- Stock in transit
- Supply risks
- Capacity constraints
- Highlight significant demand and supply variances.
- Prepare recommendations and scenarios for management review.
- Track agreed S&OP; actions and follow through with relevant stakeholders.

6. Sales & Customer Demand Collaboration

- Work closely with Sales and Supermarket teams to understand customer demand.
- Review customer forecasts and order trends.
- Analyse promotional and campaign requirements.
- Ensure major customer events and promotions are reflected in demand plans.
- Identify potential demand changes and communicate their impact on supply requirements.




- Support new product launches by developing initial demand plans and monitoring actual performance against forecast.
- Work closely with the Procurement & Supply Planning team to translate planning requirements into purchasing actions.
- Provide recommended order quantities and required delivery dates.
- Monitor open purchase orders against the supply plan.
- Identify orders that may create stockout or excess inventory risks.
- Work with Procurement and Import Operations to resolve supply issues.
- Monitor supplier performance against agreed lead times.
- Provide forward visibility of upcoming supply requirements to suppliers where appropriate.

8. Import & Supply Pipeline Planning

- Monitor imported stock requirements and stock in transit.
- Consider supplier production lead times, shipping lead times and expected arrival dates when developing supply plans.
- Work closely with Import Operations to understand upcoming container arrivals.
- Identify potential supply gaps caused by shipment delays.
- Assess the impact of changes to ETD and ETA on inventory availability.
- Support forward planning for imported products.

9. Data Analysis & Reporting

- Prepare regular demand and supply planning reports.
- Analyse planning performance and identify trends.
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools using Excel and planning systems.
- Provide management with clear visibility of demand, supply and inventory risks.
- Prepare reports including:
- Forecast accuracy
- Stock coverage
- Excess inventory
- Slow-moving inventory
- Stockout risk
- Supply risk
- Inventory value
- Provide actionable recommendations rather than simply reporting data.
- Consider inventory carrying costs when developing supply plans.
- Consider MOQ and order frequency impacts on inventory.
- Support procurement and sourcing decisions through demand and supply analysis.
- Identify opportunities to optimise order quantities and purchasing frequency.
- Support costing, pricing and commercial analysis where required.
- Balance customer service requirements with inventory investment and working capital.
