Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Java Solution Designer to join a Business Transactions Program within a financial services environment. This role is responsible for designing robust, scalable, and secure solutions that support high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing.

n

You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and delivery teams to translate complex business requirements into well-defined technical solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead the end-to-end solution design for Java-based systems supporting business and financial transactions
n
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical designs, architecture diagrams, and design documentation
n
- Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance solutions for high-volume transaction processing
n
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to ensure designs are understood and deliverable
n
- Ensure solutions comply with financial services regulations, security standards,



and internal governance frameworks
n
- Provide technical guidance during build, test, and deployment phases
n
- Review and approve detailed designs, code approaches, and integration patterns
n
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies
n
- Support integration with upstream/downstream systems, including APIs, messaging, and legacy platforms
n

Required Skills & Experience

n

n
- Strong experience as a Solution Designer / Senior Engineer in Java environments
n
- Deep hands-on knowledge of Java (8+), Spring / Spring Boot, and enterprise Java frameworks
n
- Experience designing systems for business or financial transactions, ideally in banking, payments, or capital markets
n
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and integration patterns
n
- Experience with transaction management, data consistency, and fault tolerance
n
- Robust knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
n
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging (e.g. Kafka, JMS, MQ)
n
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
n

Nice to Have

- Previous experience working on large transformation or regulatory programs
n
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure)
n
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
n
- Knowledge of financial messaging standards or transaction frameworks
