A respected and well‑established civil construction business operating across the Geelong, Surf Coast and Golden Plains regions is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support continued growth. With a solid reputation for delivering high‑quality subdivision, infrastructure and water/wastewater projects, this organisation is well positioned as regional population growth drives significant new infrastructure demand.
Role Overview
As Project Manager, you will manage the full lifecycle of civil projects — from early tender involvement and pre‑construction planning through to delivery, close‑out and client handover. This role requires a capable leader with strong commercial awareness and the ability to coordinate multiple work fronts effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating project delivery with site supervisors to ensure safe, efficient execution
- Ensuring all works are delivered to specification, quality standards and program
- Liaising with clients, consultants and subcontractors to resolve technical and delivery issues
- Managing project variations, contract administration and commercial documentation
- Monitoring project costs and supporting monthly reporting
- Preparing tender submissions,
including scope review and pricing
- Obtaining and reviewing subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Assisting with tender strategy, methodology and cost estimates
- Coordinating procurement and subcontractor engagement once projects are secured
- Supporting project setup, early planning and mobilisation activities
Background & Experience
To be considered, you will be a tertiary‑qualified Civil Engineer with solid experience delivering civil infrastructure projects. We are seeking:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in civil construction
- Proven delivery and estimating experience
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications and design packages
- Experience with cost control, variations and contract administration
- High level of commercial acumen and project planning capability
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
