An opportunity has become available for a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Psychiatrist - Forensic Psychiatry) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 10,000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

About the role
n
Provide clinical specialist forensic psychiatry (inpatient and community) support to Mental Health and Specialist Services, making a substantial contribution to the development of a culture of medical education and safe, effective patient centered clinical practice.

Requirements for the role
n
n
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
n
- Tuberculosis screening - to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
n
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
n
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia plus FRANZCP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and registrable as a Psychiatry specialist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
n
- Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.
n
- Certified copies of relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
n
- Strong clinical and teaching experience in Forensic Psychiatry is desirable.
n
- A Certificate of Advanced Training in Forensic Psychiatry by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists is desirable, however a strong interest in forensic psychiatry is also considered.
n
- The incumbent will be required to participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for Mental Health and Specialist Services.

- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $265,550 - $281,545 p.a
n
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $222,059 - $257,932 p.a
n
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
