Training Ahead Australia (TAA) is looking for an experienced Training Manager to support our Victorian training operations and lead our team of trainers and assessors.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands vocational training, can keep day to day delivery running smoothly, and knows how to bring people together around clear standards and expectations.

Working closely with the broader leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating training delivery across Victoria, supporting and mentoring trainers and assessors, managing operational priorities and helping ensure our programs are delivered safely, consistently and in accordance with RTO and regulatory requirements.

About the role

This is a full-time role based in the Melbourne office.

Key responsibilities include:

- Leading trainers and assessors across Victoria
- Supporting and mentoring trainer and assessors
- Coordinating daily training delivery, trainer allocations and operational priorities
- Monitoring delivery schedules and responding to changes, issues or resource requirements
- Ensuring training and assessment is delivered in accordance with applicable Standards for RTOs, regulatory requirements and TAA policies and procedures
- Supporting trainers and assessors to understand and consistently apply RTO compliance requirements
- Monitoring training and assessment practices to ensure they align with approved training and assessment strategies, assessment tools and learning resources
- Supporting the maintenance of accurate training, assessment and learner records
- Identifying and addressing gaps in training delivery, assessment practices or trainer compliance
- Supporting validation, moderation, professional development and continuous improvement activities
- Providing coaching, feedback and performance support to trainers and assessors




- Ensuring trainers and assessors maintain relevant vocational competencies, industry currency and required training and assessment credentials
- Ensuring training activities are delivered safely and in line with contractual, regulatory and organisational requirements
- Working closely with clients to understand delivery requirements and maintain strong working relationships
- Supporting the onboarding and development of new trainers and assessors
- Identifying opportunities to improve training delivery, systems and day-to-day operations
- Escalating compliance risks, resourcing issues and delivery concerns where required
- Contributing to a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture
- Actively deliver training as a Trainer and Assessor

About you

You will be an experienced training professional who enjoys leading people and taking responsibility for getting things done.

You are organised, practical and approachable, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, safety and the learner experience.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Experience leading trainers or operational training teams
- Solid experience within the vocational education and training sector
- A sound understanding of the Standards for RTOs and the requirements that apply to training and assessment delivery
- Experience implementing RTO policies, procedures and quality requirements within day to day training operations
- Experience within the rail industry or another safety-critical environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to build effective relationships with clients, trainers and internal teams
- A practical approach and willingness to step in when operational support is required
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, compliance and continuous improvement
- Relevant rail industry experience and training and assessment qualifications will be highly regarded.
