Te Haeata/The Opportunity
We are looking for an Advisor to join the Governance Investment and Assurance team of the Te Au Reka Programme. This team supports the effective operation of the Te Au Reka Programme by coordinating programme activity, supporting governance and reporting, Machinery of Government inputs for the programme, and providing business group support to the Deputy Secretary and Te Au Reka leadership team.
In this role you will contribute to a wide range of work that supports both the programme and the day‑to‑day business of the Te Au Reka group.
You Will Support
Deputy Secretary Office and business group activities
- Preparing high quality draft responses to official correspondence, including OIAs, parliamentary questions, and other enquiries.
- Assisting with preparation and coordination of business group documentation,
including performance information and corporate processes.
- Helping ensure processes, templates and materials are kept updated and fit for purpose.
Programme management support
- Supporting coordination, tracking and reporting of programme activities, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Maintaining programme registers and trackers to ensure information accuracy.
- Assisting with preparation of papers and memoranda for governance groups.
Programme workstream support
- Contributing to development and quality assurance of programme documents and collateral.
- Supporting programme assurance activities, including preparation for reviews.
- Providing coordination, analysis, and support across the Governance Investment Assurance workstream, including governance secretariat support as required.
Ō Pūkenga/Skills And Experience
- Experience working in, or supporting, a project, or programme, including supporting the preparation of reports, papers and supporting documentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft sections of documents, coordinate inputs and tailor information for different audiences.
- Good judgement and attention to detail, including the ability to review information, identify issues or gaps, and follow up or escalate matters where required.
- An understanding of public sector processes and machinery of government requirements, or a willingness to develop this knowledge.
- Strong relationship skills, with the confidence to work constructively with colleagues, stakeholders and programme teams.
- Confidence using M365 tools to prepare documents, manage information, maintain registers and trackers, and support team coordination.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, follow through on actions and contribute flexibly to both advisory and coordination tasks.

Utu ā-tau/Salary
Te remuneration band for this role is $74,634 to $100,846. The appointing salary for this role is between $74,634 – $95,591 based on skills and experience.
