We are looking for an Allied Health Assistant for a short-term contract with a regional health service, approximately a 4-hour drive from Melbourne.
This role will support the Allied Health team in delivering secure and effective care across clinical and community settings. You will work under the supervision of allied health professionals and assist with therapy programs, patient support and day-to-day clinical duties.
Role details
- Contract dates: 31 August 2026 to 6 November 2026
- 76 hours per fortnight
- Monday to Friday roster
- Hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, with an early finish on Fridays
- Grade 2 role
- Reports to the Allied Health Manager
- Shared accommodation may be available if required
- Travel support may be available, capped at $200 return travel
Key responsibilities
- Assist allied health professionals with patient care and therapy programs
- Support individual and group-based activities
- Work with patients across health service and community settings
- Help with clinical documentation and general administrative tasks
- Communicate clearly with patients, families and the wider care team
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support safe patient outcomes
About you
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance from an Australian registered training organisation
- Hospital or health service experience would be highly regarded
- Experience supporting allied health professionals
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Good computer literacy
- Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds
- A UK or Irish allied health degree holder waiting on AHPRA registration may also be considered
