Job Description
Support Workers required on a casual basis to assist participants with disability in community settings.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide day‐to‐day support within the community, helping participants live safely, independently, and with dignity
n
- Assist with personal care routines, including hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
n
- Support meal preparation and domestic tasks to promote health and daily‐living skills
n
- Offer transport and social support, helping participants access community activities, appointments, and social connections
n
- Encourage personal development and goal achievement, tailoring support to individual preferences and aspirations
n
- Build strong, trusting relationships with participants to better understand their needs and deliver people‐centred care
n
- Empower individuals to make choices, develop skills, and pursue what matters most to them
n
n
Qualifications
n
What you will bring
n

- A genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
n
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams
n
- Empathy, compassion, and emotional resilience, with the ability to build trusting relationships
n
- Adaptability and patience, especially when responding to complex needs, behavioural challenges, or evolving care requirements
n
- Strong ability to make decisions and take initiative in challenging environments
n
- Experience in caring for youth is highly desirable
n
- Ideal experience in mobility assistance and promoting daily‐living skills,
delivered with respect and professionalism
n
- An understanding of inclusion, independence, and empowerment for people with disabilities, and a commitment to supporting their goals
n
- Physical aptitude and reliability, enabling you to assist with manual handling, transportation, and active engagement in recreational or community activities
n
- A proactive and collaborative approach, working as part of a team to deliver high‐quality support and continuously improve outcomes
n
n
Preferred additional qualifications
n
n
- Authorised to work in Victoria
n
- Valid Victorian Driver Licence
n
- Understanding of the NDIS, disability, and community services sector
n
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability or studying toward the qualification (highly regarded)
n
- Minimum two‐year industry experience
n
- Ability to actively navigate and adapt to change
n
- Working with Children Check
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
n
- First Aid/CPR Certificate
n
n
